music

so i have to miss a concert because i have class tomorrow.
no bueno.

but i'll be even more upset if i have to miss the Missy Higgins concert because i have a final a few hours before her concert.

i know, college is more important, but i'm still a teenager, i would rather be out having a good time than taking a test any day!

time

this weekend should be fun.
it will be the first time in about a month that i have a day off, except for when i had to call in sick about a week ago.
but that's a different story.

laryngitis is not fun.

college has too much control over my life.

state of happiness

so i've lived in california now for about 2 months.
i've made a few friends, mostly due to the fact that i have a job.
also thanks to fte, and more specifically, sascha.

there are definitely things that i miss about texas, but that's understandable, i mean, i only lived there for 19 years...
thunderstorms, the freeways even, the river running through my college campus, my friends, and acquaintances, smg, my parents, my cat... this list could go on for days.

but despite missing all of those things, i really am enjoying california.

and although i adore texas state, i'm happier in santa clara. i love san marcos, and the school there, and my friends there, colorguard, etc. but i would have never been happy enough there to justify staying. i was happy there b/c of my friends, and colorguard and all of that, but i'm happy here even without those things, so once i start to make more friends here, and hopefully am able to join a colorguard here, i believe things will work out for the best.
i have to believe this. i'm an optimistic person, and it is situations like this that prove just that.

you must always pursue your own happiness over the happiness of another.
i've finally found the truth in that statement.

later.
